Details

A highly desirable example of the Iconic Enfield SMLE that benefits from the recent professional replacement of the barrel.
Stamped BSA Co 1915, this rifle features a new barrel in .303. The bolt has a matching number and is smooth and positive in its operation. The stock's condition is consistent with a service rifle of this age and it is richly coloured and shows no signs of cracking or repair. The button on the stock bears the numbers 252, 17 and 4.
The gun features a magazine cut-off, adapted charger bridge, widened foresight wings with blade foresight, U shaped rear sight, being most of the desirable features highlighted in the attached video.
The stock has 'Jeaany' (sic), carved in the left side and a tally count on the right side.
All of the exposed screw heads are in good condition. The front and rear sling swivels are present and there is one magazine which locks in to the mag-well positively.
Take a look below at the excellent video about these rifles by Ian McCullum of Forgotten Weapons.
Can be seen anytime by appointment in Alton, Hampshire or sent to your local RFD from £30.
